RE: More Hamburgers......Fuddrucker's?

Those eateries are usually pretty good, but I steer clear of the bacteria bar. After seeing people sneeze and cough or put things back, or kids trying things and putting their hands all over things after wiping thier snotty noses, I pass. Just a bottle of ketckup for me, hopefully one that is not contaminated. :E

I think I have moved on

Nascar is a predictable bore, for the most part. The short tracks not so much, but they go so slow it is a bore also. They don't crash enough, (like the truck series does) They don't fight in the pits anymore, they speak like news anchors when interviewed, etc. So I now only watch drag racing, in FULL SURROUND SOUND!!! Go Pedregon brothers!!

RE: Small world sometime when you travel?

I was picking up my parents who were flying in to see me, and a cousin of mine whom I was meeting for the first time, walked past us and said hello. He was changing planes and just happened to bump into us. Only time I have seen him too! One time I was on a mountain peak and a guy says hello when he noticed my Buffalo Bills hat logo. Went to the same high school a few years after me. (20+ years earlier) My parents were vacationing in Florida and a guy says hello in passing. He was a student of my dad's 20+ years earlier.

RE: Disney Fort Wilderness - Breakfast & Dining Plan Questions

Just realized we have another question..... I'm hearing about the golf carts that people can rent. Are they a good deal? It sounds like they are popular. How many passengers can fit? Specifically are they 2 or 4 seaters officially? We are a family of 2 adults and 3 kids ( ages 14, 10, and 7 ). I figure if they are 4-seater golf carts then we could get everybody on a single cart *IF* we decide to bother with getting one. We expect to have our bicycles with us, so maybe the golf cart isn't as important? Your thoughts on dining plan, breakfast, and golf carts are appreciated. Most important thing to keep in mind is time. it takes time to go to a restaurant, then time to eat, then time to get to the theme park, etc. If you can eat cearal in your trailer, and bring granola or other type of snack bars with you, then you will save time and money. The campground breakfast is a buffet, last I checked. I ate it once and it was OK, not great. Also keep in mind your two older kids are full price for everything. 9 is the cutoff for kid prices. I have been there several times, and have found the "all - inclusive" or package plans to cost you more in the long run. For example, for a 7 day stay, a 4 day theme park pass is plenty. There are so many other things to do there, plus you need a relaxation day sometime during your stay. Whatevr you plan on doing, with three kids it wil cost you in the 1000's, even if you plan it right, and spend wisely. It is a wonderful place to visit, but incredibly expensive. http://www.allearsnet.com/ here is the best site for the Fort! http://www.disneycampers.com/Disney/default.html

RE: what do you think of dr. phil???

Why does he always seem to pick on cheatin' husbands? Maybe he got caught a while back, and his bossy wife made him go after others, to keep his marriage going. BTW, how can a big load like him sell nutrition/diet cookbooks??????

RE: Will Hillary Will

Tray, I lived in Pa. for 24 years and my home track was Maple Grove. Ever been there? Also used to go to York US-30. I have been once, last year, and plan on going back this year. I had to wait til my son was old enough to appreciate the "sonic boom"!

Who remembers cardboard bumper signs?

When we travelled in New England in the 60's, tourist places would put these signs on your bumper, while you were visiting. Places like Wildcat Mt, Lost river, Ausable Chasm, etc. They were printed on thick paper, (like thick poster board) and they attached to the bumper with wire, so you could remove it easily. Nowadays, you are expected to buy them , along with T-shirts, hats, mugs, magnets, etc, etc, etc!!!

RE: canvas style pop up vs. Aliner / Chalet?

I looked at them but for $20,000+ they are way too pricey. My pop up was $8500 and it will probably last at least as long as I am willing to go camping.

RE: Spearfish/Deadwood/Sturgis area then on to Mt. Rushmore area

We will be coming southeast from Sheridan, WY, on our way to the Spearfish/Deadwood/Sturgis area. We would like to see the sites in that area then go on to the attractions around Mt. Rushmore and the Badlands. Is there one campground to stay at that will cover all this area, or would it be better to go from one area to the other using two different campgrounds. We should arrive at Spearfish/Deadwood around Friday, August 29. Will all the bikers be out of the area by then? Every time this comes up, Rafter J campground gets the most votes. http://www.rafterj.com/ The bike rally is Aug 4 - 10, so the week before and after will see plenty of Harleys too.

RE: Roth IRA for son

You do not report Roth IRA income to the IRS, since deposits are made from Taxable income. You have already paid income tax on the money, as in your take home pay. At retirement you can withdraw the money from a roth tax free. Things like 401 K and regular IRA are taxed when you withdraw the money at retirement. The advantage being, your income is generally lower at that age, so your tax rate is lower.

RE: not buying gas from mid east oil suppliers

People don't care where their oil comes from, they just want it at the lowest price. Actually...we just want to ensure that NASCAR can go on :p Don't worry about that. If the oil runs out, they will simply switch to moonshine!:C

RE: Some say it's not torture-I say it is!!

traywolf--"your racing hero is dead", who did not know that? It was obvious by your post who your racing hero was and he fit my description perfectly. Liriope Even though Dale Sr. is gone and has was a favorite of mine, it really has nothing to do with my original post. Jimmy J is a bore to listen to, as is Tom Brady. Not because they are intelligent and well spoken, they are simply BORING. Tony Stewart for example, is intelligent and well spoken, but is not boring to listen to. He is quite comical at times. (As are many of the other drivers) On another note, I like Jeff Gordon as a driver, but he is also a bore in interviews. This criticism has nothing to do with their on track performance, only their lack of personality. Maybe NASCAR is to blame, for making them appear as bland as skim milk. Drivers used to all be very animated. As far as those guys in the "booth", I wish they would just shut up. FOX sports has gone way too far in the coverage and analysis, to the point of torture. I no longer listen to any of their prattle, and therefore FOX is losing out on me tuning in to their long parade of ads, which I sadly admit I would watch in the past. Larry Mac needs a new slogan besides, "he took a hard lick".

RE: Some say it's not torture-I say it is!!

Actually it's not. It is quite a few of us out here. And as far as Jimmy Johnson is concerned, water boarding would be preferred over listening to him.:p Now that there's funny! JJ reminds me of a pilot. Very cool and well spoken, but about as exciting as watching golf on TV.:R
